ndClick 1.4 for Mac enhances the experience of working with documents in NetDocuments. It facilitates the handoff from the web to desktop applications (like MS Office, ndOffice, Outlook, etc.) and helps to ensure that your changes are uploaded immediately to NetDocuments and checked-in so they are ready for the next person. ndClick 1.4 introduces new advanced authentication functionality. This feature primarily ensures that users on a multi-user environment maintain strict communication only between their session of NetDocuments and their session/instance of ndClick and allows for use of higher ports often found in multi-user environments.
Now, you must log into ndClick to transfer documents. See ndClick Advanced Authentication for detailed authentication flow.
To enable this feature, go to Repository Administration > Security Center > Advanced Authentication > the Authentication tab, and select the Enable Advanced Plugin Authentication for multi-user environments check box. Save your changes.
Note that this setting is primarily for multi-user environments (Citrix, RDS, etc.) and is not normally needed in single-user environments.
In the Status bar, you may right-click the ndClick icon and the following menu appears:
The Settings menu includes options to change the service region, establish proxy settings, manually change host, and enable/disable extended support logging:
To choose the service, select Change service and choose the needed service from the drop-down list.
From the right-click menu, select Log in to open the login form:
The new login form and authentication flow will ensure that documents transferred via ndClick will be securely handed off to the correct user.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You must be logged into the same NetDocuments service with the same user account in both ndOffice and ndClick to check out, open, edit, and check in documents.
