Drag Emails and Documents to Navigation Pane
With ndMail 1.3, emails can be dragged and dropped directly to the NetDocuments Navigation Pane in Outlook to file a copy directly to NetDocuments.
You can file emails to Workspaces, Filters, and Folders.
In case you attempt to drag to a location with empty required attributes or with invalid attributes, ndMail prompts you with the Outlook Save dialog to allow you to complete the profile before clicking Save to finish the process.
Note: ndOffice 2.4 is required to use this feature and ndMail Outlook Panels must be enabled.
Columns in ndMail Outlook Panels
Additional email-related columns are available as a configuration option.
Note: You need ndOffice 2.4 to use this feature.
In the ndOffice Activity Center dialog box, go to Settings (gear/cog) > Columns.
The following additional columns are now available to add to your view: Subject, Email Date, Imported By, Email From, Email To. Users can select up to 10 columns.
With ndMail 1.3, keyboard shortcuts are available for key features in the filing panel.
- ALT+Z - Navigate to the ndMail panel/Expand the collapsed ndMail panel
- ALT+X - Move out from the panel
- ALT+S - Search
- ALT+C - Switch cabinet tabs
- ALT+B - Browse
- ALT+A - Access
- ALT+F / ALT+M - File / File&Move
When you enter text in the Rename field, press Esc to return to the previous state.
Press Tab to navigate through the ndMail panel controls, and press arrow keys to move focus through filing locations. Press Enter or Space to interact with a given option/control.
ndMail 1.3 provides additional performance improvements when navigating around Outlook.
Additionally, a new check box appears in ndMail Settings. Select Disable auto updates to prohibit users from being notified about new versions. This check box is cleared by default and is controllable via a registry setting if your administrative staff prefer more control over this feature.
Multiple Exchange Servers
ndMail now supports multiple Exchange servers per repository, configure this setting in NetDocuments.
- Log in to NetDocuments, and select the <your name> from the upper-right corner.
- Select Admin > Repository > ndMail Configuration.
- On the ndMail Configuration page, under Exchange Configuration, select the Add Exchange Server button.
- Complete the form with the Exchange Connection information and save it. Then click Validate to test the connection.
Now, you can add multiple Exchange servers instead of one.
Folder Mapping Features
Export and Import a .json File
ndMail 1.3 provides a UI for importing and exporting the user's list of folder mappings.
On the ndMail tab, select More > Settings > Advanced > Import Mappings.
Select Load Current Mappings and ndMail uploads your configured mappings.
The Copy pre-existing emails dropdown provides three options:
- No - Do not copy emails.
- Yes - All Emails - Copy emails and mappings to another PC.
- Yes - Only emails not copied previously - Copy the emails not copied before.
Select, Resync, or Unlink Multiple Folders
Select multiple folders in the ndMail Monitor List.
To select all folders, go to the Monitor List, right-click, and select Select All option.
To select several folders, press and hold the Ctrl button, and then select folders you need.
Resync multiple folders in the ndMail Monitor List.
To resync a folder, in the Monitor List, select a folder and then select the Re-Sync button at the bottom of the screen. A message appears prompting you to indicate the emails you want to copy. Note that you resync the selected folder only.
To resync multiple folders, in the Monitor List, select several folders, and then select the Re-Sync button at the bottom of the screen. Alternatively, right-click and select Re-Sync. A message appears prompting you to indicate the emails you want to copy. Note that you resync the all the selected folders.

Unlink multiple folders in the ndMail Monitor List.
To unlink multiple folders, in the Monitor List, select several folders, and then select the Unlink button at the bottom of the screen. Alternatively, right-click and select Unlink. A confirmation message appears. Note that you unlink the all the selected folders.

New Registry Information in ndMail 1.3
Note: Settings on administration level prevail over user level settings.
This String value (Type: REG_SZ) is new to ndMail 1.3: IsAutoUpdateEnabled.
- True - Show that the new version is available and you can upgrade to it.
- False - Do not check for new versions and select Disable auto updates.
