Profile Attribute Sample Tables

These tables will have to be downloaded and opened in Excel in order to view the proper format.

  • Author – sample Author table using a Short Author name and Author Name.
  • Document Type – sample Document Type table for a legal firm using a Short Description and a Long Description.
  • Document Type – sample Document Type table for a financial services firm using only a Long Description.
  • Client and Matter – sample Client and Matter table using a Client Key and Name with a Matter Key and Matter Description.
  • Client and Matter with Matter Types – sample Client and Matter table using a Client Key and Name with a Matter Key and Matter Description plus a Matter Type designation to be used when using multiple Workspace Templates and Archiving purposes.
  • Client and Matter with Matter-level Access defined – sample Client and Matter table using a Client Key and Name with a Matter Key and Matter Description including a Matter-level Access column to provide specific access at the Matter level. We refer to this as Profile-based Security.

Notes:

  • When using leading zeros for client/matter numbers always set the number of characters setting in the Profile definition page and it will automatically pad the leading zeros for you in NetDocuments.
  • If you set the number of characters in the profile definition page (shown below), you do not need to include leading zeroes in your CSV file.
