Update - Inbound Connections using TLS 1.1


Action NOT required.

Upon further review, it has been determined that we will not be deprecating TLS 1.1. There is a subset of the ciphers used in TLS 1.1 that will no longer be supported. This change is planned before the end of 2017, and we anticipate that this will have no direct impact on end users. The ciphers we will continue to support on TLS 1.1 going forward are:

 TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA (rsa 2048)
TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA (rsa 2048)

Again, no action is required as all standard libraries will handle this change with no impact to end users. Customers who connect via Akamai are already limited to these ciphers.

WHAT WE ARE ANNOUNCING TODAY:  Netdocuments is continually working to improve our software and services to best meet the needs of our customers, with security being of the utmost importance. We are announcing the disabling of TLS 1.1.  Please consider this your written notification of End of Life of TLS 1.1.

WHEN WILL THIS CHANGE TAKE EFFECT: On May 31, 2018, NetDocuments will be disabling TLS 1.1 across the entire service.

IMPACT OF CHANGE:  This change has the potential to break integrations with NetDocuments if no action is taken.

ACTION REQUIRED: Within the next month, we will be providing a set of IP addresses to test against. Once those IP addresses are available, we will post them here. At that point, we encourage you to test your configuration, at your earliest opportunity, to confirm that you are ready for the change. We will continue to support the newer and more secure TLS 1.2 protocol, which is supported by all modern browsers and coding libraries.
