Word 2016 Error
Microsoft Word is throwing the error, "Word is running into problems". Any suggestions?

This message will occur when the application (Word in this case) experiences an issue while an add-in is running. To be a bit more specific, when Word encounters an issue and a particular add-in is running at that time, a value will be created in the registry under the following location:
When Word starts up, it will check this key. If this key contains a value that corresponds to an add-in, you will see the message above referencing that particular add-in. If you click "No" on the prompt then the value under the Resiliency key will be removed and Word will continue to launch with the add-in enabled. If you click "Yes" on the prompt, then the add-in will be disabled. As for why Word experienced an issue in the first place, you would probably need to check your Windows Event logs. You would probably need to get more information from the end-user as well, for example did they see any error messages prior to this? Or did Word crash or hang?
The user reports that word crashes, and we have performed Office repairs, and full reinstallations, monitored event viewer, and EV just states that it ran into errors with the ND add in. The user is selecting no everytime the prompt comes up, but this is not the first computer this particular user has had this error on. Is there something in particlar that the user could be doing that would be setting this off consitantly? Thanks for your reply.
We see continuous issues with the Netdocs plugins crashing and becoming disabled due to a crash or loading slowly. I have enabled the resiliency keys to prevent them being disabled due to poor performance however this doesn't stop the warning messages that pop up warning me they are still loading slowly. I have not been able to find the cause of the plugins crashing, if I remove those plugins Outlook runs fine, the moment the Netdocs plugins are added back in the issues return. We have Office 2010 and 2013 and I have a test machine with Office 2016 and all versions exhibit the same issues.
My firm has this issue all the time with Office 2013 and 2016. Unfortunately, only Outlook lets you set an addon to always load and it remembers it. Word, is the worst, as we set it to always load and then it changes the registry key to disabled or not to load at startup, and we have to hack it regularly to set it back to always load. I created a script that will set all the registry keys for all the office programs so we do not have to manually hack the registry each time, but I too wish that all of them would never disable the addons if we set it that way. It is more of a Microsoft issue than a NetDocuments issue, but I hope it gets patched by someone soon.
