Word and PDF Versioning

Often we need a version history for both PDF and Word documents. Currently this can only happen if we convert the Word document to PDF. Then it is part of the version history. However this is not always the case. I would like to be able to save any PDF to any Word document (or Word to PDF) as a new version.

If you have ndOffice 1.8 + and MS Outlook, you can right click on the PDF attachment and then save as a stand-alone document or a version of an existing document.

Can you explain further where you want to do the conversions?   with ndOffice, you can convert Word to PDF, and with Adobe DC you can convert PDF to Word recognizing although through that export process we don't today expose the ndOffice dialog to save directly to ND.  Other products such as DocsCorp PDF apps will allow you to do conversions and save the output to ND.

If I send a Word document out to an external party. They convert to PDF and send back to me. I have no way to save that PDF as a version of the original Word document.

You can also save the PDF locally, then use the Upload Version button in the details panel to add it as a new version of an existing document. But, if you use ndOffice, the right-click option would be preferred over this.
