Move/Copy as a background process

Much like a mass access change or a mass profile change, a background process should be submitted when a user Moves or Copies more than 100 documents at a time. Maybe even send the user an email confirmation when it is completed. This would allow a user to continue working in NetDocuments instead of waiting for the dialog box to close. Currently, the dialog box just sits there and spins.

  • I am surprised that this has been out here this long with no action.  Anyone know the status?

  • Voting this idea WAY UP... You'd eliminate easily almost 50% of our user gripes by eliminating the "blue circle of death"

  • Still no update on this?  Do we submit a move to Support?

  • Yes the move/copy dialog is still something our users wrestle with on a daily basis... if there were plans to move these operations more to the back-end, it would be extremely beneficial to the end user experience.

  • I've got users struggling with this as well. Would be nice to see this functionality added in - it's difficult enough to wrangle containers with thousands of documents as it is without these additional frustrations.

  • Encountered this today. We need an administrative ability to migrate files between workspaces. Users need a better tool set for their purposes too. Thanks

  • Hello,

How can you move thousands of items from cabinetA - workspace1 into cabinetB - workspace2?

You can do a search, find the items, but you cannot select them all... the option is grayed... you will need to scroll until the last page of all your items in order to get the select all check-box...  Then you can do a move of all those items... but if you have thousands... no way...

This is a major request guys!

    Thanks.
