I've had this happen quite a few times although never figured out how or why it happens. The workspaces need to be Reset. Be careful, though. If you have folders in the workspaces, they need to be moved out before choosing to Reset or they will be deleted. I just move them out and then move them back after the Reset.
Summary view not showing documents
Two of my users are having an issue, where some matters do not display any documents in summary view. They are all there in the list view. They see other matters correctly in summary view and other users see the problematic matters correctly in summary view. Everyone is using IE 11. A real head scratcher...
