ND Office Secure Link

The Send Secure Link feature within ND is great for forwarding documents externally.

Even better would be the ability to create a secure link though ND Office when sending an email. This would enable our lawyers to reply to client emails with the secure link in the reply and therefore not break the history of the conversation.

We are planning this functionality for ndOffice. You can inquire about it's status via it's tracking number: ndOffice: 101041.

It is currently being considered for 2.3 which is due out in early 2018. Votes here will help us prioritize its inclusion.

Great idea. One way around this is once you've chosen the "Deliver a secured link option", then choose "Send link through email". This will open a new email in your chosen email programme and you can then copy the link box into your existing email train so as not to break the history of the conversation. The down side to this method is that when you get emails to notify you that the link has been viewed, instead of saying which client (particularly if you're sending it to more than one) has opened the email it'll say that your have opened it.

Legalexec,

It sounds like you are suggesting that when a user selects to create a secured link in ndOffice, that we would open the WEB dialog to create a secured link, and from there the user could choose to send the secured link via desktop email integration?

I suspect that the implementation of this would work entirely through ndOffice and it would include the secured link in the current email.

Also, if we did implement it the way I suspect, we will still not know who the link was sent to because the recipient will be controlled by the sender in Outlook.  However, we do NOT indicate that the person who shared the document opened it.  We simply do not indicate who opened it.

Hi - it would be excellent to be able to send a secured link directly from ndOffice rather than finding the document and using 'Deliver a secured link'.

Using the 'Send link through email' option is good but there is work to do on the email formatting before it can go out so to include the link in an existing email will make the experience far better for the user.

I love the idea as well and would see it added to the box in outlook where you attache a file.  There would be a button that says External Link.

My users always forget about the option in NetDocuments for sending an external secure link.  If it was right there in their email they would be less likely to forget.

This would also be valuable in the NDoffice notification area to be able to right click on a document and have the option to send an external link.

Hi all -- is there an update on this for ndOffice?  Our users love the Zip file and would love to be able to send a secure link through ndOffice and also encrypt a zip file at the same time.  Thank you.
