Error encountered during login: 80070532 (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070532)



Users with Auto-login enabled may see this error:

Error encountered during login: 80070532 Logon failure: the specified account password has expired (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070532) 


If you are receiving the above message is it likely due to not having the correct Date/Time settings in Windows. Please set the proper date and time including the time zone and Daylight Savings setting.

You might also see this error if you are using Certificate Based Login and the certificate you are using has expired.

    Hi, I just thought I'd let you know that I run into this issue with a client this morning after a recent password change for NetDocuments.

    Just to give you some background; The user has a new device as well as there PC and needed to sign into NetDocuments. This prompted a password change as the user currently has auto logon enabled.

    In this incident the issue wasn't with the certificate or the correct Date/Time settings, but rather the saved passwords within IE.
    I had to delete the passwords, Exit and re-open IE.
    When browsing to the link again this logged in and worked perfectly.

    Settings Cog > Internet Options > Browsing History > Delete > Passwords

    I just thought I'd mention this moving forward in case other user's encounter this issue.
