These add-ins provide an easy way to import emails into NetDocuments from Outlook. Typically, a user will install either EMS Folders or EMS Profiler (not both) as they essentially perform the same function. However, there is no harm in installing or using both add-ins.
Cabinet Administration settings
In order to use the EMS add-ins, one or more cabinets must be configured to use EMS. See our guide for Cabinet EMS Settings.
Installing the EMS add-ins
To install EMS, use the links above to download the software. Then, follow the steps outlined in the installation setup wizard:
When you open Outlook, you will be prompted to login to EMS:
Once logged in, your user account will automatically login for the next 12 months.
EMS Folders Settings
EMS Folders settings are determined by Cabinet Administrators. Users will simply drag and drop emails from their Inbox to the folders nested under "ND - Send to NetDocuments".
In Outlook, users will see the EMS Folders tab. Learn more about using EMS Folders.
EMS Profiler Settings
After logging in, you will be prompted to configure EMS Profiler:
Go to File > EMS Profiler to configure EMS Profiler. This will need to be done at least once after EMS is installed, but users may want to adjust their settings from time to time.
Above the user's Inbox, they will see the EMS Profiler toolbar. Learn more about using EMS Profiler.
Once logged in to EMS, your user account will be automatically authenticated (logged in) for 12 months. At that time, you will be prompted to log in again. Users do NOT need to log out of EMS each time they close Outlook or shut down their computer. If it becomes necessary to log out of EMS before the 12 months expires, you will need to go to Settings > Manage App Access to revoke your user account's access to EMS. Learn more about Logging out of EMS add-ins.
