By the end of day US time on September 22, 2015, ndOffice version 1.6 will be released. See ndOffice to download the latest version and find more information such as system requirements. We previously planned to release on September 17, 2015, but found a show stopper bug that we had to take care of. We apologize for the delay.
Planned Subsequent Update
For your planning purposes, the next Update for ndOffice (version 1.7) is planned for October 2015. The subsequent version will be March 2016 timeframe. We will inform you if this plan changes as we get closer to the date. We are providing this information to assist you as much as possible in your planning and administration of the NetDocuments Service for your organization.
Please review the ndOffice 1.6 feature highlight video below.
Below are the changes included in version 1.6:
Documents that are checked out will display a check out mark in the ndOffice dialog.
Outlook Save Dialog Re-design - Users can save/profile multiple messages (with attachments) to multiple locations in NetDocuments at the same time.
“Filing” emails to a workspace or filter is allowed in Outlook Save dialog even if the user doesn’t have Edit rights to the container.
Instruction tips have been added to the re-designed Outlook dialog.
Outlook dialog now uses file icons instead of paper clip icons.
E-mails will be stored only one time per workspace (matter). De-duplication operations are performed so subsequent saves will be ignored if they are the same email with the same metadata.
Profile attributes of emails will be changed after deduplication to match the most recently imported email's profile values.
Users can choose default locations for opening, saving, attaching (recent documents, recent locations, last location saved, etc.).
Changes to the document name or attributes will not change the selection to the “recent location.” Instead, the cabinet will be selected, and any existing profiles will be preserved.
New Settings dialog, including navigation settings for default save and open locations.
Users can find a workspace using only the child (Matter) field.
Closed matters will not show in profile fields.
Multiple improvements have been made to overall speed, functionality, and security.
Small UI refinements in the dialogs have been made to improve consistency and visual quality.
The Document ID column has been added to ndOffice dialogs.
Hover tips have been added that show the path for a filing location.
Additional advanced search features available in the web UI have been added to ndOffice.
Users can search by Document ID in the simple search box.
Fixed a problem where edits were lost with doc > docx conversion.
When saving, all file types are displayed so the user can version (for instance, saving a DOCX as a version of a PDF).
If a cabinet has workspaces, that cabinet will always be expanded.
If a user clicks a location, it’s checkbox in Outlook’s save dialog will be selected.
ndOffice installation will detect if .NET Framework 4.5.2 is present on the computer.
A new bootstrapper build is available that installs both VSTO and .NET 4.5.2 on the computer as a part of per-user installation. Learn More
Users can create folders within the ndOffice interface.
The navigation pane will always be left justified, instead of leaving it scrolled to the right when expanded for a long path.
A Right-Click Menu has been added for new options.
An option to open the document as Read-Only has been added to the Right-Click Menu.
Note fields are now full-text indexed. This change will eliminate an exact search so the user can find notes with a given word in them.
Both “summary” and “list” views are available in dialogs listing files so that it is easier to find files in filters.
Refined download progress indicator.
New throttling mechanisms are supported in ND, so that the server client can intelligently respond to forced throttling.
A request is no longer made for each letter typed in the child-parent profile attribute.
