The NetDocuments platform is cloud-based and is provided as a Service which requires no actions on your part when updates are released. However, we do supply client add-in software which can be used to extend the functionality of the NetDocuments Service.
This article provides information specifically related to the RSA Direct Integration we created several years ago. If you are not currently using the RSA integration then this article would not be applicable to you.
At the beginning of 2014, we introduced a new capability referred to as Federated Identity. It implements industry standards to allow customers the option of authenticating with a variety of Services connected with NetDocuments, such as RSA, OneLogin, Okta, etc.
Because of this added Federated Identity capability, we are announcing that we will cease supporting the Direct RSA integration after February 4, 2016. It will still be available in the user interface until April 30, 2016, however, it will no longer be supported. If you need to continue to use it past February 4, 2016, we will not be making any changes to it and will provide limited Technical Support for it.
The Federated Identity capability provides a superior method for authentication and a much broader range of options to connect to RSA and other providers. You can also utilize two-factor authentication with those providers who supply that capability if you choose. If you are using the Direct RSA integration we currently provide, you should transition to use the Federated Identity capability prior to April 30, 2016.
